DNA Complete FAQs
Kits, Results & Privacy
We utilize the latest genetic testing technology and adhere to strict quality-control standards to ensure high accuracy and reliability for all our test results. DNA Complete uses Whole Genome Sequencing and analyzes 100% of your DNA while typical DNA Ancestry tests analyze less than 1% of your DNA.
Whole Genome Sequencing is the current gold standard for genetic testing. DNA Complete analyzes 100% of your DNA, compared to typical DNA Ancestry tests that analyze less than 1%. While other commercially available ancestry tests like 23andMe and AncestryDNA read your DNA at about 600 thousand positions, Whole Genome Sequencing reveals over 6 billion positions in your genome. This generates a thousand-fold more information that's also more accurate, enabling more comprehensive reporting on traits and ancestry.
When you become a DNA Complete member, your membership plan provides access to robust, highly dynamic personalized genetic reports and access to state-of-the-art explorer tools. While your DNA may not change, what the scientific community understands about DNA and its role in various health outcomes is evolving all the time. We securely store hundreds of gigabytes of your DNA data, allowing it to be continually reprocessed to generate new personalized genetic reports as the latest scientific discoveries emerge. This means you only need to get tested once in your lifetime to benefit from years of ongoing updates and insights.
After placing your order, you'll receive an order confirmation email. Once you receive your test kit, follow the easy instructions to collect your sample using a simple cheek swab. Use the pre-paid envelope included in your kit to send your sample back to our lab. You'll receive an email notification when your results are ready.
Yes, your privacy and security are our top priorities. We follow stringent data protection protocols, and you have full control over your data. Your information is stored securely and is never shared without your consent.
We encourage you to share your reports with your healthcare provider to develop a personalized plan for managing your health. However, we also offer genetic counseling appointments that can be booked via your user portal.
DNA Expand currently accepts raw DNA data uploads from AncestryDNA and 23andMe. You don’t need to take a new test — just upload the data you already have.
Every major testing service lets you export your raw data from your account settings. Log in to your AncestryDNA or 23andMe account, request your raw DNA data download, and save the file. Then upload that file to DNA Expand.
After you upload, we “fill in the blanks” in your raw data using a statistical process known as imputation. This expands your DNA data file to contain over 35 million genetic variants — 50 times more information than the original raw data file from your testing service — which is what enables our more detailed reports.
Often the same day you upload, you’ll receive an email notification that your expanded results are ready. You can then access all of your reports through our secure online portal.
DNA Expand is $49.95 per year — less than $1 per week — or $19.95 per month, plus sales tax as applicable. You can cancel anytime.
Yes. DNA Expand is built privacy-first: you keep full ownership and control over your genomic data, and we never sell it. You can delete your data at any time.
